I haven't been very good about the blog. Somehow life is always busy!!Last weekend I was down in the Bay Area to visit friends and go to a conference. Super fun seeing old friends and playing with their 8 month old. I know there are pics somewhere... she is growing like a weed and now giggles and babbles, too much fun!! Also found the coolest Candy shop in San Jose. Willy Wonka would have loved all the old school candy! Also, walked across the Golden Gate for the first time. I have driven but never walked. It's much larger when you are standing on it. 1.2 miles to cross (funny, seems shorter in a car). Note the crisis phone and sign "the consequences of jumping from this bridge are fatal and tragic" Eek, does anyone else remember that creepy documentary?
The conference was about Wilderness Medicine provided by NOLS. Interesting course, a bit basic. It was in the Marin Headlands outside Sausalito. Beautiful area, here is the view from the "classroom". We did session on Rodeo Beach, not far from Stinson Beach, all not far from Farallon Islands, where Great Whites breed. Did I mention I have pictures of shark bait, I mean surfers? Silly surfers!!Dolly Mae is fabulous, full of personality. She is so energetic now. She actually eats her food and never stops playing. It's really exhausting! She is much more cunning, wiley, even vocal I don't think I had any idea how uncomfortable she was with her patellar issues until she had recovered. She is at times a different dog now, but still a very good girl. David was nice enough to take care of her while I was gone. She was spoiled rotten, as she gets many walks, treats and a fun playmate. I think she was happy to see me? I was happy to see the beautiful flowers left for me... such a considerate guy.
