Mt. St Helens

So yesterday, I went up Mt. St. Helens again with D. Super fun trip!! This time we did the route in snow, pretty much snow from the parking lot. We packed snow shoes but didn't need them, we were able to kick steps or use existing steps most of the way up. Slow but steady pace the whole way up. It was an amazing day with beautiful weather and a view of surrounding peaks.

First peek above the clouds at 5,000ft. First view of Mt. Adams. My next peak!!

The slow steady slog 4,500ft up...

View from the summit. This is why you climb mountains, not to mention so much more fun than a day at work. Mt. Hood in the distance, some day soon?

Crater rim in the background. Mt. Adams in the distance. Sadly, we could not see into the dome due to the large cornices. There were some huge, sketchy cracks back from the rim, so we stayed even further back.

Now the fun part, glissading down!! Its a giant luge. So much fun to slide down 3,000ft on a volcano on your bum!!
