Blessed by a Lama

So last Thursday, my friend Lisa and I went to a lecture at the Portland Art Museum to see Lama Ole Nyedahl. He travels around the world teaching the principals of Tibetan Buddhism, also known as Diamond Way. It was nice to hear a different perspective on life, simplified.

My three take home points from the lecture are to learn self-responsibility, self-reliability, and he also spoke of a model in which everyday we put on "Buddha's mask", until one morning we look in the mirror and realize the mask is our own.

After the lecture, there was a group meditation, and then he blessed those who chose to be blessed. I figure one can never have enough blessings or gracious thoughts in life.
