What a fun weekend!! So Friday a group of friends went to Mississippi Studios (again!) for a fundraiser for Haiti courtesy of Mercy Corps. Celilo was playing and they are fabulous. There were four bands and it was hosted by LiveWire with some spoken word and story telling, including a lovely story about peeing oneself while donating blood?! Oops.
Saturday - I went on the most fun date with my Christmas tree chopping friend. (see below). He had a surprise night planned that started at The Farm, although the wait was an hour, so we moved on to Noble Rot, 1h 15 min wait and then settled for Doug Fir b/c we had super secret plans to follow. Then off to the Bossanova Ballroom for the Wanderlust Circus. It was SOOO fun!! Sort of like Teatro Zinzanni (for Seattle folks) with circus acts interrupted with food, dessert, beverage courtesy of Le Pigeon. Somehow we were upgraded to one of the floor tables that included dinner (except we had eaten) so we sampled the tasty food. The acts were amazing!! Acrobats, gymnasts, pyrotechnics, all loosely set to the storyline of the Circus by Charlie Chaplin. Seriously if you live in Portland, you must check this out, it was so much fun. Then off to meet a few friends for "Cover Your Heart" a fundraiser for Ethos Music in Portland. This featured 10 local bands that each covered 80's mush songs. (Get it - "I had the time of my life"?!) Really, a fabulous Valentines night. Thanks D!
Sunday - Worst Day of the Year Ride... except it wasn't? It was almost 60 degrees and the rain stopped, blue skies peeked through for the 2hours to ride an 18 mile urban trail. I'm actually a little sunburned. Silly NW girl.
